ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 21-year-old student is facing illegal drug charges after some P442,000 worth of illegal drugs was recovered from his possession during a drug buy bust operation Monday afternoon at Brgy. Cagay here.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) is set to file charges against Prince Dave Doncillo, 21, of Sitio Bliss, Barangay Cagay here for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) before the Roxas City Prosecutors Office here.

Doncillo was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted near his house.

Recovered from Doncillo were the P14,100 fake money, 13 sachets of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia.

But according to Doncillo, he was shocked when police arrested him while he was having his snack in the area.

He denied owning the suspected illegal drugs and other recovered items.

Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, RPDEU team leader, said the companion of Doncillo identified as Jocelyn Cabisilla and also a resident of said place escaped after sensing that she was dealing with an undercover police officer.

Darroca estimated the weight of the seized substance at 65 grams with market value of P442,000.

Doncillo is presently detained at the Roxas City Police Station while the seized item will be subjected for laboratory examination.

Punong barangay Arthur Aragon of Cagay said that the target of the buy bust operations was Cabisilla, not Doncillo. He said that it was very unfortunate for Doncillo that he was present when the operation was carried.

Aragon said that Cabisilla is a suspected drug personality in the barangay because of her live-in partner’s link to another suspected drug peddler.
