BACOLOD City – A barangay watchman was shot dead by three unidentified persons in Sitio Minauyahan, Barangay Mina-utok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Police identified the victim as Rolando Bustillo, 50, of Barangay Bug-ang, Toboso town, who was also a former member of Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu).
Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., town police chief, said Bustillo was sitting on his tricycle parked inside a transloading station when three unidentified men arrived.
One of the men then shot the victim’s head, neck, arms, and body before fleeing.
Police recovered from the scene five cartridges of .45-caliber ammunition.
Bustillo was taken to Calatrava District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Indiape said they are eyeing personal or job-related as possible motives of the incident.
“Basi bala may nakaaway siya or may akig sa iya,” Indiape said.
Indiape said the victim had no threats, according to his family.
