A teenager who was accused for rape was arrested anew in Batad, Iloilo.
Renel delos Reyes alias Kaw-it, 19, of Barangay Bulak Sur, Batad, was served another arrest warrant on Aug 5, 2020 while detained at the police lock-up cell.
Police Lieutenant Edgar Labiscase, Batad police chief, said they arrested the teenager for the crime of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A par. 1 of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353.
The case is docketed as Criminal Case No. 2020-9450 in the sala of Regional Trial Court Branch 66 Judge Oscar Leo Billena in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
No bail bond was set for his temporary liberty.
Police first arrested delos Reyes at his home in Barangay Bulak Sur on Aug 1 for rape by sexual assault under Article 266-A par. 2 of the RPC as amended by RA 8353 docketed.
His first case was docketed as Criminal Case No. 2020-9451 with a P120,000 bailbond.
Labiscase said delos Reyes’ family planned to bail him out after his arrest on Aug 1.
But before they could do it, another warrant was issued against him. This time, no bail was set for his provisional liberty.
It was gathered that a minor stood as complainant against the suspect, whom police complained has “a slight mental problem.”
