BACOLOD City – An 18-year-old boy was arrested after he was caught allegedly trespassing in a house in Barangay Rizal, Sagay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said the suspect, whose name was withheld pending the confirmation of his identity, was cornered by the house owner in a bedroom.

Guadalupe said the suspect was allegedly armed with a kitchen knife when arrested.

Guadalupe said the suspect earlier entered the same house previously.

As a modus, the suspect would usually break the glass window of a house and sneak into the bedroom during the early hours of the morning, Guadalupe said.

In fact, the suspect allegedly tried to molest three women, including a 14-year-old girl.

One of the incidents was even posted by the minor’s sister on social media last week, to warn the people in Sagay, and to call the attention of the authorities.

But as per record, Guadalupe said three incidents were only officially recorded at the police station.

The first incident was recorded last month in Barangay Poblacion 1, followed by two more incidents in May 9 and 11, and the recent one.

The suspect was working as a helper in an auto shop in the city.

“Kis-a daw like kung makainom siya, parang na feel niya ang urge manaka balay,” Guadalupe said.

Police are also verifying if he has a mental illness, as his victims could even persuade him to surrender.

“Daw uto-uto bala, gapati man siya, pero indi abi mapaktan bala,” Guadalupe said.

Guadalupe said they are coordinating with the suspect’s family to know more about his background.

With this development, Guadalupe urged other house owners who might have been victimized by the suspect to visit the police station to positively identify him for the filing of a similar case.
