BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) announced Monday the temporary closure of the Lacson-Circumferential flyover in Barangay Bata here from March 16 to May 23, 2022.

In an advisory, Executive Assistant II Francis Anthony Juen, BTAO officer-in-charge, said the flyover will be closed to all vehicles from 8 a.m. of March 16 to May 23, as the structure undergoes rehabilitation and major repairs.

Only one lane at a time shall be occupied and only light vehicles are allowed to pass on the flyover, the BTAO said.

The BTAO noted that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Bacolod City District Engineering Office said the repair is to avoid untoward incidents that the bridge might cause to motorists and other road users.

Also, the Sum-ag Bridge 1 along Bacolod South Lacson in Barangay Sum-ag here will be closed to all vehicles from March 15 to 23 for major repair.

Meanwhile, Juen assumed as BTAO officer-in-charge effective March 8, 2022, based on a Memorandum Order issued by Mayor Evelio Leonardia last week.

Juen was a former undersecretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), who served in the government for 28 years, according to Retired Police Master Sergeant Dennis Perma, public information officer of BTAO.

Juen replaced Police Lieutenant Colonel Ruel Culanag, who was moved to a new assignment.
