BACOLOD City – A truck driver was shot dead inside his house at Sitio Chloe, Barangay Rizal, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Slain was Antonio Gallo, 57, according to the police.
Police Lieutenant Abundio Diaz, deputy police chief of Sagay City Police Station, said the victim was watching television when two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants arrived and shot him.
Diaz said the victim was with his granddaughter at that time, but she was unharmed.
The perpetrators, who were wearing jackets and their faces covered with masks and scarfs, quickly fled.
Diaz said the victim suffered a gunshot wound in the head and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
Police recovered from the scene a deformed slug of an unknown firearm.
Diaz said they have yet to determine the motive of the killing, adding that they are also checking the background of the victim.
