ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police filed on Monday charges against two suspects who were caught in a buy-bust operation Friday morning last week at Brgy. Lawaan here.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act will be filed against Raymund Galicto, 46, of Sitio Nasagud Brgy Lanot here, and his companion John Michael Labesora, 18, of Barangay Tanque here.

More or less P240,000 worth of suspected shabu were recovered by police from Galicto, a high value target suspect, during a drug buy-bust operation early Friday morning here.

The Station Drugs Enforcement Team of the Roxas City police station led by Police Lt. Ricardo Jomuad Jr. conducted the operation at Pueblo de Panay in Brgy. Lawaan here.

Recovered from the suspects were 15 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated value at P240,000; a .45-caliber pistol, a .38-caliber revolver, cellular phones, a weighing scale, a black pouch, and two single motorcycles allegedly used in the illegal transaction.

Also recovered from the suspects was the P6,000 marked money.

Jomuad said it took months of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.

Meanwhile, punong barangay Herminia Dillo, village chief of Brgy. Tanque here, claimed that Labesora was a drug dealer in their area.

She said that information reached her office that Labesora was selling drugs to some users in Brgy Tanque.

“Several individuals here are happy that the arrest of the suspect will lessen the proliferation of illegal drugs in our village,” she added.
