Two journalists succumb to COVID-19

BACOLOD City – Grief shrouded the media community here after two broadcast journalists succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 Wednesday morning.

First to expire Wednesday morning was Jerome Galunan, a teacher and sportswriter of a local daily newspaper here who manifested flu-like symptoms.

The other journalist who passed away was Rushmore Ubas, formerly with Bombo Radyo and lately of Radyo Bandera, who passed away several hours after Galunan died.

Ubas was confined to a government hospital and was comatose for several days.

Both were members of the Negros Press Club.

Bacolod City Health Officer Dr. Edwin Miraflor said the RT-PCR results of the two indicated that they were COVID-19 positive.
