BACOLOD City – Two men, including a teenager, were found dead in the towns of Calatrava and Ilog, Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Calatrava town, Nonie Boy Pales, 19, of Barangay San Isidro, Toboso town, had two gunshot wounds in the neck and head when found beside a river in Barangay Minapasok yesterday.

Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., Calatrava town police chief, said Pales left their house late Wednesday evening after someone sent him a text message.

But the teenager did not reveal where or who would he meet.

Indiape said the victim was then found lifeless the following day.

Prior to the discovery of Pales’s body, nearby residents heard two gunshots in the area where he was later found along with his driven motorcycle.

“Gab-i na nag guwa ka pa kag makadto sa amo na na lugar, tapos ga ulan pa,” Indiape said.

Indiape said they have no motive yet behind the killing, adding that they will also have to check the victim’s background.

Indiape said the victim was probably waiting for the water to subside before crossing the river when he was shot by an unidentified perpetrator.

Police recovered from the scene an ammunition casing of unidentified caliber.

In Ilog town, police have yet to identify a man who was also found lifeless at Hacienda San Ramon, Barangay Manalad last Wednesday.

The man was believed to be 25 to 30 years old and 5 feet and 6 inches to 5 feet and 9 inches tall, according to the police.
