Two persons were stabbed hours apart in Iloilo City over the weekend.
Police identified the victim as Michael John Jamolo, 19, of Barangay Tanza Bonifacio, City Proper, Iloilo City, and Christian Gabito, 34, of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district.
Jamolo was playing at a carnival at Tanza-Bonifacio around 8:40 p.m. on Nov 5 when he was stabbed in the back with a piece of a broken bottle.
The suspect, a minor, was arrested shortly later. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
Prior to the incident, two boys, including the suspect, were hurling bottles in the area.
Major Shella Mae Sangrines, Iloilo City Police Station 1 chief, said the incident could be a random attack since Jamolo and the suspect don’t know each other.
Meanwhile, Gabito was stabbed while he was about to buy instant coffee at a store in Relocation Site in Barangay San Isidro around 6:15 a.m. on Sunday.
Kenmark Bacuyan, 27, also a resident of the said place, just stabbed the victim but the latter parried the attack.
Gabito immediately ran to their house, but Bacuyan chased him.
The suspect again stabbed Gabito who was hit on the upper right portion of his body.
The victim was rushed to West Visayas State University Medical Center for treatment.
Bacuyan, on the other hand, fled after the incident but surrendered to a village official more than an hour later.
