UPV conducts M & E training-workshop

“We need to have a monitoring and evaluation system (M & E) when implementing various projects for us to become a more responsible and responsive university,” says UP Visayas Chancellor Clement Camposano to the participants of the M & E training-workshop on January 19-20, 2021, at the UPV GCEB training rooms.

The event was also an opportunity for UPV officials and selected personnel to update themselves on government policies and practices about monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, which serve as a ‘checks and balances’ mechanism to improve project safety, standards, and implementation.

The activity covered a wide range of topics that included, among others: the definition of M & E, its legal basis, objectives, scope and coverage, budgeting and implementation, framework and reporting system as well as how to build green buildings.

Resource persons included experts from NEDA VI, DBM, DOLE, DPWH, and Mines & Geosciences Bureau.

The participants did an actual field monitoring visit of two selected UPV building projects to cap off the two-day training.

UPV will fine-tune its M & E system and come with an operations manual for this purpose. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Planning Development organized the event. (Mary Lyncen M. Fernandez)
