The UP Visayas Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts hosted a violin and piano concert at the UPV Performing Arts Hall at the Iloilo City Campus on July 26, 2022.

Violinist Jeanne Marquez played an array of classical pieces from great composers like Gardel, Saint-Saens, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. Accompanying her on the piano was Gabriel Allan Paguirigan.

For their superb performance, the duo received four standing ovations from the audience.

The 18 year-old Marquez was first prize winner of the 2022 New York Laureate International Music Competition and the 2022 Young Performers Prize Competition. She also won the top prize in the 2019 National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA).
