Congressman Jojo Ang of the Uswag Ilonggo Partylist distributed ₱10,000 each to scholars across all municipalities in Aklan, part of the One-Baranggay-One-Scholar program. This financial assistance aims to ease the educational costs for students enrolled in both public and private institutions.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Senator Lito Lapid, Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores, former Governor Joeben Miraflores, Uswag Ilonggo 2nd Nominee Ma. Lourdes Miraflores, and local mayors, alongside officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Their collective presence highlighted a commitment to improving educational access and supporting Aklan’s youth.
Additionally, the gathering included an orientation for the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Disadvantaged Workers (DOLE-TUPAD) program, benefiting over a thousand participants with essential employment resources and skills training.
While a planned groundbreaking for the Makato Sports Complex was postponed due to adverse weather conditions, the event reflected Uswag Ilonggo Partylist’s ongoing efforts to advocate for education and community development as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 elections.
With these initiatives, Congressman Ang reinforces his dedication to empowering Aklan’s students and fostering a brighter future for the province.
