Vaccination for 12- to 17-year-old youths starts

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The provincial government started Wednesday, Nov 10, 2021 the vaccination of the 12- to 17-year-old population at the Poolside Pavillion of the Villareal Stadium here.

Joeffrey Espiritu, Public Information Officer of the Department of Health-Capiz, said they only require the consent form from parents or guardians and presentation of a birth certificate or valid ID.

Last week, the province started the vaccination of minors with comorbidities.

A 13-year-old boy without comorbidities from Brgy. Dinginan here was the first minor to receive the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 during the launch.

Meanwhile, Governor Esteban Evan Contreras has announced that more vaccines will be arriving in the next few days.

Contreras urged local government units to acquire their own ultra-low freezers for the storage of vaccines.

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) announced that some 2,739 vials of Pfizer BionTech and 1,280 vials of Astrazenaca arrived on Tuesday, the 37th batch of vaccines the provincial government had received.
