Statement of Team Leni Robredo*
From massive political rallies in every region to individual households in every barangay, the growing collective voice of Filipinos supporting the presidential candidacy of Leni Robredo has prompted an unprecedented shift in the Philippine political ground.
The call of the masses for just and good governance has shaken the very foundation of ivory towers of known politicians from Luzon to Mindanao. This is evident in how they now echo the undisputable message that: “Sa Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay ang Lahat.”
As support for Robredo snowballs, there are factions pairing her with other vice-presidential candidates with questionable value systems and a shady agenda. As staunch supporters of Leni Robredo, let us be clear that there is only one Vice Presidential candidate that we know the Filipino truly deserves and will continue what Robredo has started: That is no other than Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
A Robredo government will be much more efficient with Pangilinan as our vice president. As lawyers and legislators, they are both knowledgeable with sterling track records, and both are capable of leading our country toward a more progressive future where no one is left behind.
Pangilinan is no political lightweight. Throughout his political career, Pangilinan has championed food security, providing support and interventions for farmers and fisherfolks to help address joblessness and poverty in the country. He pushed for the Sagip Saka Act, which mandates that national and local governments buy directly from local farmers. He also called for the full implementation of the Coco Levy Trust Fund measure, which he principally authored. Most importantly, he pushed for alternative solutions when the majority of the legislators were pushing for the passage of the Rice Tariffication Law.
Bilang mga masugid na taga-suporta ni Leni Robredo, nakita namin na si Kiko Pangilinan ang isa sa mga pulitikong unang naniwala sa kakayahan ng ating mahal na Pangalawang Pangulo upang pamunuan ang bansa habanh ang karamihan ay may pagdududa. Si Kiko Pangilinan ang unang tumaya kay Robredo: pinili niyang tahakin ang mas mahirap na landas ng pagtakbo bilang Bise Presidente kahit halos sure-win na siya kung tumakbo siya muli bilang senador.
Kaya naman sa darating na halalan, iboto natin ang tunay na tumataya sa ating kinabukasan na walang halong ibang agenda kundi tapat na paninilbihan. Hindi mabubuo ang TRoPa kung wala si Pangilinan sa tabi ni Robredo. Sa TroPa, walang iwanan. Kaya kaming mga KaTRoPa, Leni-Kiko all the way.
