Eighty-nine individuals were arrested in Police Regional Office (PRO) 6’s weeklong campaign against wanted persons.

The operations, which ran from June 1 to 7, resulted in the apprehension of 17 most wanted persons (MWPs) and 72 other wanted individuals.

Among the 17 MWPs, three were classified as regional most wanted, four as provincial, and ten at the municipal level.

The arrests of the MWPs were distributed as follows:

– Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO): 7

– Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO): 4

– Iloilo City Police Provincial Office (ICPO): 3

– Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO): 2

– Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO): 1

For other wanted persons, the arrests were as follows:

– NOCPPO: 31

– IPPO: 20

– Aklan Police Provincial Office (AkPPO) and ICPO: 5 each

– Antique PPO and BCPO: 3 each

– CPPO and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6: 2 each

– Guimaras PPO: 1

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the Western Visayas police chief, commended the efforts of the tracker teams. “I encourage them to maintain their dedication. These numbers reflect their commitment and sacrifices in locating these law violators,” he said.

Wanky emphasized that no wanted person can evade capture indefinitely.

“Eventually, the law will catch up with them. To the remaining wanted individuals, come out of hiding and surrender to the authorities,” he urged.

He also called on the families of wanted persons to persuade them to turn themselves in.
