Where to Eat in Baguio

By Randomly Candid and A Not So Secret Life

Baguio isn’t just about strawberries or ukay-ukay, it is also a place where you can find budget-friendly food fit for any gourmand traveler on a budget. Being foodie travelers, some members of Iloilo Bloggers Inc. traveled to Baguio to partake in its many offerings.

Oh My Gulay – a forest-inspired vegetarian resto with a good view of the city. Stepping inside the place is like stepping into an artist’s mind, a secret oasis of sorts. You’ll find art galleries showcasing traditional arts from the Igorot culture and a Hogwarts inspired staircase. Their menu is one of a kind too with names such as Anak nang Putanesca, Saging at Mani Love Affair, Heneral Luna’s Punyetang Shitale, Tandang Sora Parmigiana and many more. Prices range from Php 130-above.

50’s Diner – as the name suggests this place is all about the 50’s. The place is filled with 50’s memorabilia, oh and there’s a jukebox too to complete the theme. Food servings are very hefty; it’s as if you’re dining in a giant’s restaurant where every food is made to satisfy a behemoth’s appetite. We fell in love with the interiors given that we identify as an old soul ourselves. It’s like you’re being transported to another era.

456 Hot Pot – ‘cheapskating’ in Baguio is easy if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly resto with home-cooked meals for as low as P80 456 Hot Pot is the place to be. Despite the low price serving sizes are substantial. They offer food with an infusion of Chinese and Filipino cuisine. 456 Hot Pot is located along session road and is open 24/7.

Sizzling Plate – if you’re craving for food that sizzles, then the sizzling plate is the place to be. It is also one of the famous steakhouses in Baguio. The place exudes that “barn” feel with its wooden interiors. We advise getting their early or grabbing a reservation as the place is oftentimes jampacked, though it is worth the wait. Food is truly delicious especially the steak. Price is affordable with serving size that is just right for one person. I have to say though that the place is wafted with smoke coming from the grill so be prepared to smell like steak when you’re done with your meal.
