Widespread power interruptions scheduled in Iloilo City on March 10

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) have announced a city-wide scheduled power interruption in Iloilo on March 10, 2024, to carry out necessary maintenance and facility upgrades.

The interruption, which will last for a full 12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, is planned to facilitate infrastructure improvements and ensure the reliability of power services.

Several districts and numerous barangays will experience power outages, including substantial areas of La Paz, Jaro, and Lapuz.

Areas specifically affected include portions of La Paz feeders 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. In the Jaro District, barangays such as Balabago, Balantang, and Benedicto will see power cuts, among others.

The entirety of barangays Bo. Obrero and Mansaya in Lapuz District will also be affected, along with portions of Alalasan and others.

La Paz District will not be spared, with entire barangays such as Aguinaldo, Baldoza, and Divinagracia slated for power interruption.

A portion of other barangays will also experience the scheduled outage.

Furthermore, a shorter interruption of 3 hours will be observed in the early morning and late afternoon affecting all La Paz feeders and Jaro Feeder 2, along with the Mandurriao Feeder 1 and Diversion Feeder 1.

NGCP assures the public that efforts will be made to restore power earlier than scheduled if possible.

“Lauman nga possible nga mag timprano pa ang pag on ukon off sang supply sang kuryente sa oras sang 4:30 PM asta 6:00 PM kun temprano pa matapos ang line works ni NGCP” (There is a possibility that the power supply may be restored earlier between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM if the line works by NGCP finish ahead of time).
