ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Thewife of a 40-year-old man who allegedly committed suicide Friday last week had denied the report.

Jonefin Espinosa said her husband Eliseo Espinosa Jr. succumbed to cardiac arrest, not suicide by hanging his neck inside their house at Crossing Barangay Baybay here.

Jonefin said she was the one who found her lifeless husband inside their house.

The wife said that she wondered why their television on the second floor of the house was off, which is unusual every time her husband is home.

She went up to the second floor and found her husband slumped on a chair.

Jonefin panicked and thought he committed suicide because of the rope found beside him.

It was later learned that their son used the rope to hang their hammock.

Eliseo was brought to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The physician’s finding indicated that he suffered cardiac arrest.

Jonefin said her husband had been diagnosed with a heart ailment and was believed to be drunk when the cardiac arrest occurred.
