A woman was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation early morning of Jan 27, 2022 in Jaro, Iloilo City.

Police identified the suspect as Maria Cara Dionesio, 33, a resident of Barangay Salvacion habog-habog Molo, Iloilo City.

Members of the Molo Police Station collared Dionesio after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P16,1000 in a buy-bust operation at Barangay San Pedro around 2:45 a.m. Thursday.

Dionesio yielded five more sachets of suspected shabu after she was arrested.

Major Marlyn Roquero, Molo police chief, said the seized substance weighed around 27 grams and has an estimated value of P183,000.

Roquero said Dionesio is a newly identified street level individual drug personality. She has been under monitoring some three weeks ago.

Roquero said they have been trying to lure Dionesio before but she turned them down.

“She only made deals with her trusted buyers,” she added.

Dionesio has been tight-lipped on her source. But police monitored she received her supply through courier service.

Roquero theorized that she may have established connections because her brother is presently incarcerated at the New Bilibid Prison.

Dionesio is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
