Woman shot dead by ‘drunk’ partner

BACOLOD City – A woman was allegedly shot to death by her partner inside their house at Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Saturday night.

Killed was Ma. Remilou Aron, 30.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said Aron and her partner, Mark Krishtian Polvora, 34, were having an argument when the latter allegedly shot her with an improvised shotgun.

Aron succumbed to a lone gunshot wound on the head.

Guadalupe said Polvora was reportedly drunk when he committed the crime.

He was arrested at their house after a village councilman called for police assistance.

Recovered from the scene were the suspect’s firearm and a fired ammunition cartridge.

The couple, who lived together for almost 11 years, usually quarrel, Guadalupe said

They have five children.

Guadalupe said Polvora will be charged for murder. He is detained at the police station.

Meanwhile, a woman was in critical condition after she was allegedly hacked by her husband at their house in Barangay Tuguis, Hinigaran town last Friday.

Wounded was Bea Saldoa, 37,

Initial investigation showed that the victim and her husband, Estele, 45, were having an argument due to the latter’s jealousy when he allegedly attacked his wife with a bladed weapon.

The suspect surrendered and will be charged for serious physical injuries.
