WV cops gear up for summer vacation 2022

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 in Western Visayas is gearing up for the summer vacation to ensure the safety and security of tourists and the public.

An influx of tourists both local and foreign are expected in terminals, piers, malls, markets, resorts, and the likes.

Traffic congestion in major thoroughfares is also highly probable.

Criminals are also expected to victimize tourists.

To ensure the security and safety of the public and tourists, police in Western Visayas will conduct regular visits to tourist sites and deploy personnel for police visibility in identified areas.

Random and surprise checkpoints and police assistance hubs will be established in strategic areas so that the public can easily seek assistance in cases of emergency or other concerns.

Police units were also reminded to strictly implement the health protocols considering that the COVID-19 threat is still present.

Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director, said. (DG)
