West Visayas State University (WVSU) Sports Director Dr. Richard Gabayoyo spearheaded another sports event in the Province of Guimaras amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Show Me Your Dribble Contest, exclusive to Guimarasnons aged 19-years-old and below will have to submit a clip to Dr. Gabayoyo flaunting their dribbling skills.

Guimarasnons will be judged on their ballhandling skills, fundamentals, and uniqueness.

The deadline for the submission of entries will be until August 1, 2020 and the time limit for all dribbling exhibition videos will be 10-20 seconds.

Dr. Gabayoyo made the initiative of organizing this event as part of his social responsibility not only as a Sports Director and sports consultant in Guimaras, but also because he himself loves the sport.

“I know they are bored with the current situation and some of our youth are depressed given the fact that at their age they are supposed to enjoy life through sports but since we cannot do away with the pandemic, we have to face challenges of the present situation while observing community quarantine, and I have to do something,” said Dr. Gabayoyo in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.

Judging will be scheduled on August 2 and posting of the event’s winners is scheduled on the 3rd of August while awarding of the prizes will be on August 4.

The event is organized by Dr. Gabayoyo and the Players’ Center Sports Academy supported by Guimaras Governor Samuel T. Gumarin and Vice Mayor Cecile Gumarin.
