ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four meat butchers and six other individuals were arrested in separate anti-illegal gambling operations Wednesday afternoon here and in Mambusao, Capiz.
Arrested were Gary Toribio Duran, 50, of Brgy. Dinginan, Roxas City; Gerald Galvez Panagsagan, 37, of Brgy. Alasaging, Maayon, Capiz; Joemar Apaap Pelaez, 29, and Gary Budoso Bacero, 26, both of Brgy. Lawaan, Roxas City for playing cards at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC), Brgy. VIII, here.
The 1st Platoon of Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of CIDG-Capiz and Capiz MARPTSA conducted the operation.
Recovered from the suspects were a set of cards, P270 cash of different denominations believed to be bet money.
The suspects are detained at Roxas City police station and will be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 o(Anti-illegal Gambling Act).
Meanwhile, six individuals were arrested after they were caught playing “tumbo” or cara y cruz Wednesday afternoon at Poblacion, Mambusao, Capiz.
The Mambusao PNP identified the suspects as Alejandro Diestro, 61; Dedion Potato, 51; Dande Caporal, 43; Roden Potato, 55; Mark Lastrilla, 39; and Roland Zulueta, 45, all residents of said village.
The suspects, who will be charged with violation of PD 1602, are detained at the Mambusao Municipal Police Station.
