BACOLOD City – Another batch of 1,000 pre-schoolers here enjoyed the MassKara Children’s Party, one of the features of the 40th MassKara held at the Bacolod Government Center grounds on Friday.
The activity, now on its second year, is a brainchild of Councilor Cindy Rojas and the Silver MassKara Foundation Inc. in partnership with McDonald’s and Merzci Pasalubong.
Eli Francis Tajanlangit, Ruby MassKara Festival director, said they started the MassKara Children’s party in 2018 at the Bacolod Government Center.
Last year’s activity was attended by around 1,000 pupils from various day care centers in the city.
Rojas, chairperson of the City Council committee on family and child care development, said the 1,000 pupils that participated this year were from 25 day care centers in various barangays in the city.
“We have 122 day care centers here. But for now, we will tap 25 day care centers because every day care center has a total of more than 40 pupils,” Rojas further said.
The event featured a giant cake provided by Merzci, a photo booth, cotton candy and popcorn, and clowns who entertained the children.
McDonald’s also hosted games while Merzci provided more than 1,000 pieces of cupcakes to the pupils.
“We are thankful to McDonald’s and Merzci for supporting the city’s MassKara Festival. This is for our children,” Rojas said.
Grace Elizalde, McDonald’s head office operations consultant; and Gerlie Liguaton, Merzci local store marketing coordinator, said that they are happy to be part of activity and they will continue to help the city’s programs.
