Twelve more barangays in Iloilo City were placed under surgical lockdown from September 5-8, 2021.
Mayor Jerry Treñas ordered the localized containment of 12 more barangays via Executive Order (E.O.) No. 88 issued on Sunday to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The 12 barangays are areas with at least two and continuously increasing number of Covid-19 cases, based on the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test results from August 28 until Sep.2.
The affected barangays include Sto. Domingo, Arevalo with nine cases; Dungon C, Mandurriao; Sto. Niño Arevalo; Guzman-Jesena, Mandurriao; Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz; and Tagbak, Jaro with four cases each; Oñate De Leon, Mandurriao; Bo. Obrero, Lapuz; Sto. Rosario Duran, City Proper; Nonoy, City Proper and Lanit, Jaro with three cases each; and Brgy. Cubay, Jaro with two cases.
Specifically, localized containment will be imposed in the following areas in the 12 barangays.

*Portion of New Homes, Phase 2, Brgy. Dungon C., Mandurriao

*Portion along Osmeña St. and Brgy. Hall of Sto. Domingo, Arevalo
*Transmitter area across Latter-day Saint Church, Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz
*Portion of Zone 1, Brgy. Bo. Obrero, Lapuz
*Portion of Relocation Site at Zone 5, Brgy. Lanit, Jaro
*Lot, Block 4, San Avenue, Sta. Rosa Subdv., Brgy. Tagbak, Jaro
*Portion of San Jose Subdv., Brgy. Tagbak, Jaro
*One residential compound near Sitio Little Janiuay, near Gospel Church, Brgy. Cubay, Jaro
*One house near a hotel near the barangay hall of Sto. Rosario Duran, City Proper

EO No. 88 mandates that a curfew will be implemented in the affected barangays from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Sale and consumption of liquor and gatherings of any kind of people not belonging to the same household will be prohibited.
All residents of the affected barangays are highly encouraged to stay at home and “refrain from unnecessary travel” until the testing and sanitation process is done.
The City Health Office (CHO) shall conduct mandatory swab testing of high-risk and medium-risk contacts of the Covid-19 positive cases in the affected areas. (ERS)
