The Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-WV CHD) confirmed 143 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in its latest case bulletin on Oct. 29.
This latest batch of confirmed COVID-19 cases comprise 137 local cases, 4 Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSI), and 2 Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF).
Negros Occidental listed the most number of local cases with 60, followed by Capiz with 27, Iloilo province with 20, Iloilo City with 19, Bacolod City with 10, and Guimaras with 1.
The latest LSI cases are the following:
– a 21-year-old female from Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental (WV 16347);
– a 23-year-old female from Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental (WV 16351);
– a 30-year-old female from Cuartero, Capiz (WV 16381); and
– a 50-year-old female from Kalibo, Aklan (WV 16418).
The new ROF cases are of a 25-year-old male from Leganes, Iloilo (WV 16371) and a 52-year-old male from Concepcion, Iloilo (WV 16396).
The DOH-WV CHD also confirmed 84 new COVID-19 recoveries in the region.
Most of the recoveries are in Negros Occidental with 43, followed by Capiz with 17, Bacolod City and Iloilo province each with 11, and Aklan with 2.
Two new deaths were also reported, that of a 74-year-old male from Cadiz City, Negros Occidental (WV 15333), and a 63-year-old female from Molo, Iloilo City (WV 16479).
WV 16479 is also a newly-confirmed COVID-19 case.
The current COVID-19 tally in the region is 16,480, with 3,142 active cases, 12,953 recoveries, and 385 deaths.
