The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) are set to showcase the beauty of Western Visayas with the 14th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) in Roxas City, Capiz, from October 18 to 20, 2024.
This year’s event will highlight Capiz’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and emerging tourist destinations, along with the diverse attractions of neighboring provinces. The fair aims to boost domestic tourism by encouraging Filipinos to explore these lesser-known destinations.
“We are thrilled to bring this year’s Regional Travel Fair to Roxas City, giving our dedicated tourism stakeholders the opportunity to showcase the rich heritage and natural beauty of Capiz and its neighboring provinces,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. She emphasized that the event will not only support local tourism businesses but also encourage Filipinos to discover the hidden gems of the region.
The RTF will kick off with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session at the Circulo Convention Center on October 18. Key representatives from airlines, hotels, and tour operators, along with provincial officials from Capiz, Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras, will gather to build partnerships and promote domestic travel. The B2B session will culminate in a networking dinner at Istorya Forest Garden.
On October 19 and 20, the fair will open to the general public at Robinsons Roxas with a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) event. Visitors can take advantage of exclusive discounts on travel packages, airline tickets, and accommodations. The event will feature cultural presentations, interactive games, and special product showcases from DOT regional offices. Local artisans will also display Capiznon crafts and delicacies.
Adding to the excitement is the Capiztahan Food Festival Night on October 17, a grand culinary celebration that will showcase Capiz’s diverse cuisine, offering visitors a taste of the province’s finest dishes.
To further promote the province’s attractions, the TPB has organized a post-event tour, highlighting sites such as the Pan-ay Church, Palina Greenbelt Ecopark, and the Roxas City Heritage District.
The 14th Regional Travel Fair is supported by DOT Western Visayas, the City of Roxas, and the Province of Capiz, along with corporate partners 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Robinsons Roxas. Admission to the B2C sessions is free, giving everyone a chance to discover the wonders of Western Visayas.
