ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police believe the 15 bricks of dried marijuana leaves, valued at PHP 1.8 million, left at the Panitan terminal in Capiz by a RoRo bus were not intended for the province.

Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Director Albert Tapulao said on Tuesday that the marijuana bricks, recovered Monday noon, appeared to have been improperly unloaded at the terminal in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Panitan.

Tapulao assured that the CPPO will coordinate with the Alabang Police in Metro Manila to gather more information and evidence to identify the source and consignee of the illegal cargo.

Authorities said the RoRo bus, with body number 8825, operates on a route from Alabang, Metro Manila, to San Dionisio, Iloilo.

Panitan Police Chief Major Amy Bulaquina said their investigation indicated the contraband was transported via the RoRo bus with plate number 8825.

Rustico Diestro, owner of the Panitan RoRo terminal, stated that the bundles were unclaimed and bore no identifying name or address.
