BACOLOD City – Fifteen farmers in two villages in Escalante City, Negros Occidental received Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) on Feb 17, 2020.

The farmers were from Barangays Magsaysay and Mabini.

The Department of Agrarian (DAR) awarded them with almost ten hectares of farm land in relation to Republic Act 6657 or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law of 1988.

The city government through the Center for Collaborative Solution reached out to the communities to provide them with the basic services necessary on their respective areas.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Logan, commander of Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion (IB), said that they will continue to serve by bridging the gap between the local government units (LGUs) and its constituents.

“We will work hand in hand for the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace to end Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Framework,” he said.

He is also hoping for the continued support of the LGUs and the Negrenses in the anti-insurgency campaign and peace initiatives.
