16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM VS GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE: PerfLab Stages Bienvenido Noriega Jr.’s Batang Pro

The Performance Laboratory, Inc. proudly presents Batang Pro, a powerful theatrical piece by renowned playwright Bienvenido Noriega Jr., as its official contribution to the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. This annual international campaign runs from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10, Human Rights Day.

The staging of Batang Pro aims to shed light on the systemic issues of exploitation and violence that plague marginalized communities, particularly young individuals, in the face of societal and economic inequalities. Through this poignant and thought-provoking play, The Performance Laboratory seeks to inspire critical discourse and community action toward eradicating gender-based violence and upholding human rights.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign initiated by activists in 1991 and coordinated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. It invites individuals and organizations around the world to mobilize in support of ending violence against women and girls in all its forms.
