BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has arrested a total of 164 wanted persons during the simultaneous focused police operations implemented nationwide by the Philippine National Police (PNP) last Tuesday.
Eight were most wanted persons, while 156 were other wanted persons.
Two most wanted persons were arrested each in the cities of Kabankalan and Silay, and the town of La Castellana; and one each in the towns of E.B. Magalona and Pontevedra.
Based on the record of Nocppo, Victorias City Police Station topped the list with 24 apprehensions, followed by Bago City Police Station with 16, and Escalante City Police Station with 11.
Eight apprehensions each were also recorded in the cities of Sagay and San Carlos, and the town of Isabela; seven in Ilog town; six each in the towns of Murcia, Pontevedra, and Pulupandan; five each in the cities of Cadiz, Kabankalan, and Talisay, and the town of Cauayan; four each in La Carlota City, and the towns of Hinoba-an, Binalbagan, and Moises Padilla; three each in the cities of Himamaylan and Silay; and two each in Sipalay City, and the towns of Calatrava, Hinigaran, La Castellana, Manapla, San Enrique, and Toboso.
The Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company each arrested two wanted persons.
One each were reported in the towns of Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, E.B. Magalona, and Valladolid.
Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo, public information officer of Nocppo, said the operation was conducted purposely for crime prevention and crime solution efficiency.
It also included intensified police visibility on the ground, he added.
