A 19-year-old Psychology student from STI-West Negros University claimed the title of Dinagsa Queen 2025 in a grand coronation ceremony held at Cadiz Arena on Thursday night, January 23.

Angel Mae Baldoquin bested nine other candidates to secure the coveted title.

She was crowned by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., First Lady Mariel Escalante, and Dinagsa Queen 2024 Ayah Jane Sucajel.

Baldoquin received a cash prize of ₱50,000.

Chelcie Chassandra Binoya and Rochelle Ramos were named first and second runners-up, winning ₱40,000 and ₱30,000, respectively.

Adding glamour to the event, movie and television actor Gab Lagman serenaded the candidates during the coronation night.

“I feel overwhelmed and honored to be crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025,” Baldoquin said.

She vowed to fulfill her responsibilities by serving the people of Cadiz City to the best of her abilities.

Baldoquin attributed her success to her self-belief and unique identity as a proud morena.

“My own uniqueness gave me strength throughout this journey. I want to use my title to inspire the youth and all Cadiznons to remain motivated and work together for a progressive future,” she added.

The new queen dedicated her victory to her parents, who are currently working in Poland.

“Even though they are far away, their unwavering support and love kept me going,” Baldoquin shared.

The Dinagsa Queen pageant remains a centerpiece of the annual Dinagsa Festival, showcasing the beauty, talent, and culture of Cadiz City.
