Just when everyone thought that Gina Iniong would be retiring after announcing her marriage and pregnancy, a wind of change just blew.

After considering retirement to focus on her family after giving birth, Iniong, the first Filipina to set foot in the ONE Fighting Championship, is planning to return to action.

The Southeast Asian Games kickboxing gold medalist is already excited to square off with the prized MMA fighters in her division and is vowing to bring back PH women’s glory.

“This year, everything just fell into place for me, and I learned a lot of valuable lessons. The biggest lesson I learned this year is that time is so precious. You can’t put a price on it. It’s the only thing you can never make more of. It’s life’s most expensive commodity,” Iniong said.

Also, Team Lakay’s disappointing 2020 run will be Iniong’s motivation heading into her preparations for her comeback and promised to take back what’s theirs.

“I can’t wait to get back in the Circle. I’ve missed it. Once I’m cleared to go back to training, and when my body feels right, you can expect to see me alongside your favorite Team Lakay superheroes again,” added Iniong.

No definite timetable was given by the prized Filipina fighter as to when she is planning to return to the ring but before 2021 ends, expect her to go back in the fight column.
