ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Two members of the media here will again try their luck in politics in the 2022 elections.

Rexam Laguda of Radyo Bandera-Roxas and Rico Infante of Radyo Todo-Capiz are running for city councilor here under Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

Laguda and Infante are two of the ten candidates for city councilor with former Capiz provincial board member Rommel Lastimoso as mayoral bet and former city councilor Powell del Rosario for vice mayor.

Laguda and Infante are also kagawads or village council members of Tanza and Mongpong, respectively.

The two ran as independents in the May 2019 elections.

Meanwhile, City Councilor Jericho Angel Celino has confirmed that he left the Liberal Party (LP) of former Senator Mar Roxas and moved to Partido Demokratikong Reporma (PDR).

Jericho is running for vice mayor against two opponents – Culasi Punong Barangay Teresa Almalbis of LP and Atty. Powell Del Rosario of PDP-Laban.

He clarified that he has no ill-feeling with LP after he was not chosen as vice mayoral bet.

LP was also the political party of his father, former three-term Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino.

Partido Demokratikong Reporma is the political party of Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Vicente “Tito” Sotto who are running for President and Vice President, respectively, in next year’s elections.
