20 more Bacolod cops catch COVID

BACOLOD City – Active cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) increased to 49 after 20 new cases were recorded yesterday.

This was revealed on Thursday by Police Lieutenant Liberty Indiape, BCPO information officer, citing swab test results of policemen from the City Mobile Force Company and Police Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Indiape said that of the 20 cases, seven COVID-infected police officers were from Police Station 6, seven from Police Station 3, five from Police Station 5, and one from Police Station 1.

With the surge in COVID cases, Indiape said that BCPO personnel, particularly those assigned to police stations, will be subjected to surveillance testing.

Indiape said the BCPO will send additional personnel to police stations whose personnel were affected by COVID-19.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 active cases in Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here also increased to 30 after six personnel tested positive for COVID-19 last Wednesday, according to Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s deputy information officer.
