For the first time in the history of the NBA, the Rookie Draft will be done virtually. No tables, no fancy handshakes, and no face-to-face interviews.
Commissioner Adam Silver and the rest of his team were quick with the decision of having the NBA Draft digital due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Silver will still announce the picks in the first round while deputy commissioner Mark Tatum will replace Silver once the second round starts.
ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. Studios will host the virtual event presented by State Farm and will be aired live on ESPN, ESPN Radio and the ESPN app.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be the first to pick followed by the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The stacked 2020 batch of draftees are potential number one pick Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, Lamelo Ball, and Obi Toppin.
