The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo is currently conducting their 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 as rider survey of July 2023 Labor Force Survey (LFS).
FIES aims to gather data on family income, sources of income, family expenditure and related information affecting family income and expenditure levels and patterns in the Philippines.
It also determines the income distribution, levels of living and spending patterns, and the degree of inequality among families, to provide benchmark information to update the weights used in the estimation of Consumer Price Index (CPI) and provide inputs in the estimation of the country’s poverty threshold and incidence.
PSA Iloilo hired a total of 124 Statistical Researchers to cover 1,536 sample households in Iloilo City and 1,536 sample households in the Province of Iloilo which cover 35 municipalities/cities in Iloilo.
The Statistical Researchers were trained during the 2023 FIES V1 and July 2023 LFS Third Level Training from June 28 to July 4, 2023 at Smallville 21 Hotel.
They started the operation on July 8, 2023 and expected to complete the enumeration on the last week of July 2023.
OIC-Provincial Statistics Officer Jerry Dolutan requests for the cooperation and support of the public on this undertaking.
He also informed the public that hired personnel of PSA can be identified through the ID they wear and documents such as letters to the barangay requesting for permission to conduct of the survey, and other necessary documents to prove their identity.
He warns the public to be aware of scammers and people pretending to be PSA personnel to gain confidential data.
