Localized containment will be imposed on 23 barangays in Iloilo City to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Mayor Jerry Treñas issued Executive Order (E.O.) No. 104 on Sunday, September 19, 2021, ordering localized containment on specific areas of the 23 barangays.
The 23 barangays which will be placed under localized containment from Sept. 19 to Sept. 22 include San Antonio, Molo, Compania, Molo, Boulevard, Molo, South Fundidor, Molo, Sooc, Arevalo, Calaparan, Arevalo, Javellana, Jaro I, Benedicto, Jaro I, Sambag, Jaro I, Lanit, Jaro II, Tabuc Suba, Jaro II, Balabago, Jaro II, Cubay, Jaro II, MV Hechanova, Jaro II.
In Mandurriao district, the barangays of Dungon, Guzman-Jesena, Oñate De Leon, and Airport will be affected by the granular lockdown alongside Tabuc Suba, Aguinaldo, and Magdalo in Lapaz district. Granular lockdown will also be imposed in Loboc, Lapuz and Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper.
The 23 barangays recorded at least two and continuously increasing number of Covid-19 cases, based on the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test results from Sept. 10 to Sept. 17.
Among the 23 barangays, Balabago in Jaro district logged the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the past seven days with 12 followed by MV Hechanova, Jaro and Calaparan, Arevalo with six cases each and Tabuc Suba, Jaro with four cases. All the other barangays recorded two to three Covid-19 cases.
Under the EO, gatherings of any kind of people not belonging to the same household shall be strictly prohibited. Sale and consumption of any form of liquor is likewise prohibited.
Meanwhile, a curfew will be implemented in the affected areas from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

All residents of the affected areas are highly encouraged to stay at home and “refrain from unnecessary travel” until the testing and sanitation process is done.
The City Health Office (CHO) shall conduct mandatory swab testing of high-risk and medium-risk contacts of the Covid-19 positive cases in the affected areas. (ERS)
