MORE Electric and Power Corp., the power distributor in Iloilo City, said 26 of its employees tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The employees underwent RT-PCR testing by the Metro Iloilo Hospital Molecular Laboratory as they were close contacts of another employee assigned to the Customer Services Office (CSO) at Hotel Del Rio who tested positive on Wednesday.
The 26 workers were immediately quarantined and were swabbed. The test results were released Thursday and Friday.
Two Hotel del Rio workers who were also close contacts of the index case also tested negative.
The workers have been released from the quarantine facility after getting clearance from health authorities of MORE Power. But they will undergo 14-day quarantine before they can return to work.
Meanwhile, the CSO at Hotel del Rio returned to normal operations Friday after disinfection but the number of people allowed inside was limited and health protocols were strictly imposed.
MORE Power’s corporate office, warehouse, trading room and control center at GST Corporate Center on Quezon Street, City Proper were closed for disinfection.
