260 curfew violators nabbed in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested a total of 260 curfew violators from March 30 to April 2 amid the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) here.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO public information center, said that these individuals were caught loitering outside their houses with quarantine passes.

“Some are trying to look for other means to earn a living, despite the restriction on the movement of people,” he added.

Of the total figure, Barangay Banago has the highest apprehension with 116; followed by Mansilingan with 57; Sum-ag, 38; Taculing, 26; Villamonte, 15; Alijis, 10; Bata,9; Handumanan,8; Granada,8; Vista Alegre, 6; Mandalagan,5; Barangay 40, 4; Barangay 18, 3; and Barangay 13, 2; Barangay 30, 2; and Barangay 1,1.

The city is placed under ECQ from March 30 to April 14 in the height of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Pico said that also included in the list were two persons who resisted arrested from the authorities in Barangays 30 and Felisa when they were reprimanded for violating the curfew, and for not wearing a face mask, respectively.

One of them allegedly threatened the barangay watchmen at knifepoint during the arrest at Barangay 30.
