ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Twenty-seven wanted persons were arrested in one week of operations by the police.
In its weekly accomplishment report, the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) indicated that from June 10 to 16, 2024, three most wanted persons and six other wanted persons were apprehended.
In other operational accomplishments, five individuals were arrested for unlicensed firearms, seven for illegal drugs, and six for illegal gambling.
Additional significant accomplishments included two persons depositing their unlicensed firearms, seven surrendering loose firearms, two rebels returning to the government, and six being caught for illegal logging and illegal fishing.
Meanwhile, charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were filed against a tricycle driver on Wednesday afternoon, June 19, following his arrest in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Ivisan, Capiz.
The Ivisan Municipal Police Station filed the case before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against alias John, 38, of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Ivisan.
Recovered from the suspect were four sachets of suspected illegal drugs, P1,500 in buy-bust money, a cellphone, and a tricycle.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Ivisan PNP station.
