Police Regional Office 6 led the virtual graduation rites of 296 Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) trainees on August 31, 2021 at Caseñas Hall of Camp Gen Martin Teofilo B Delgado, Iloilo City.
The PSFTP is a 960-hour instructional program required for all police rookie after finishing the 6-months training of Public Safety Basic Recruit Course.
The training is divided into three phases – traffic, patrolling and investigation.
These patrolmen and patrolwomen were accompanied by their Filed Training Officers who serve as their mentor, teachers, and molder in the real work of a police officer in the field.
The 6-month PSFTP equipped the trainees with knowledge and skills of what is community policing about. It also prepared them to become effective and efficient police officers if they will be given an assigned unit in the future.
During the virtual ceremony, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, Director of the Philippine National Police National Training Service (PNTS) and guest of honor and speaker, congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the one-year probationary required for them to become a full pledge member of Philippine National Police.
“Your training doesn’t end today, but it is the new beginning for you to serve our country as full time police officer. This is your opportunity to make change, to become a leader as you are called to be,” PBGen Banac said.
Part of the program is the awarding of top 3 most outstanding trainees – Patrolman Geson A Ariente, Patrolman Ferdinand M Asoy, and Patrolman Gilbert C Animas.
These 296 trainees are the PSBRC Class “KINAADMAN” who took their oath last July 1, 2020 at PRO6 headquarters and underwent 6 months training at Bakyas Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The trainees included 253 males and 43 females.
Present during the ceremony are Police Brigadier General Allan Nobleza, Deputy Regional Director for Administration; Police Colonel Percival Zorilla, chief of the Regional Special Training Unit 6; Police Lieutenant Colonel Lindley Barrientos, assistant chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division; and Police Major Mark Ibardolaza, Regional Pastoral Officer.
Also in attendance virtually were Police Colonel Martin Defensor Jr, Chief Regional Staff; and Police Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Relado, the Chief of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD).
