3-day police operations net P1.2M worth of drugs

BACOLOD City – Local policemen here and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted series of operations through buy-bust and search warrants which resulted in the seizure of P1,260,500 worth of illegal drugs from January 17 to 19.

PDEA had the biggest operation of P544,000 worth of suspected shabu in a drug raid at Barangay Estefania here last Friday.

Arrested were Rommel Diaz and Mark Raymond Chua for the confiscation of about 80 grams of suspected shabu.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) also recovered P497,000 worth of suspected shabu and suspected marijuana in four separate buy-bust operations.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido conducted the biggest buy-bust operation at Barangay Banago last Friday which resulted in the arrest of Rolando Bernabe, 36; and Ma. Christina Aguia, 32, of Sagay City while their other male companion was able to escape.

Police confiscated from them 35 grams of suspected shabu worth P420,000. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 3.

The three other operations were conducted at Barangays Taculing, Vista Alegre, and Sum-ag here.

In Negros Occidental, police seized P219,500 worth of suspected shabu in four cities.

These areas included Sagay, Himamaylan, San Carlos, and Talisay.

Police in San Carlos City simultaneously implemented search warrants in four villages last week.
