3 persons caught transporting 500 boxes of liquor in Iloilo

Three persons were held by police for allegedly transporting a truckload of liquor afternoon of June 2, 2021 in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

The suspects were identified as Jay Cober, 29, of Barangay Conarum, Lambunao, Iloilo; Peter Ryan Saladar, 21, of Lanot Grande, Lambunao; and Roel Conahap, 21, of Barangay Mangel, Janiuay, Iloilo.

Cober drove the wingvan (license plate YBE-344) loaded with 300 boxes of Tanduay ESQ 375 ml and 200 Boxes of Tanduay 5years 375ml.

Saladar and Conahap were Cober’s helpers.

The trio was then arrested for violating Executive Order No. 174-A issued by Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. as one of the measures to stem the spread of COVID-19.

EO No. 174-A extends the effectivity of the liquor ban until revoked.

The liquor was taken from a warehouse in Barangay Loboc, Lapuz, Iloilo City and was intended to be brought to a store in Lambunao town.

Apart from EO No. 174-A, the suspects could also be liable under Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person).
