Different police units in Western Visayas netted 305 wanted persons in a matter of 24 hours.
The move was in consonance with the order of the PNP national headquarters to conduct a “one-day, simultaneous, all-out” campaign against wanted persons on Aug 30, 2022 all over the country.
Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 records indicated that 1,216 warrants of arrest were served by different police units in Western Visayas on the same day which led to the arrest of 305 individuals.
The arrested individuals included 24 most wanted persons (MWP), or those in the top 10 list of wanted persons, and 281 Other Wanted Persons (OWP).
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has the most number of arrested most wanted persons at 9.
Negros Occidental PPO followed with 8; Iloilo City PO, Antique PPO and Guimaras PPO with 2 arrests each, and Bacolod City with 1.
On the arrest of OWPs, Negros Occidental PPO topped the list with 157.
Iloilo PPO was far behind with 71; Bacolod City PO with 12; Antique PPO and Aklan PPO with 11 each; Iloilo City PO with 8; Capiz PPO with 7; and Guimaras PPO with 4.
Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief; lauded all police units in the region for the collective effort against wanted persons.
“Congratulations at ipagpatuloy natin ang ating kampanya laban sa mga wanted persons. Hangad po natin na mahuli ang mga natitira para hindi na po sila makagawa ng anumang krimen at mapanagot sila sa batas,” he said.
