Four prized Ilonggos made waves and clinched gold medals in the recently concluded Puerto Rico International Virtual Open Poomsae Challenge.
It seems like the jins from the emerging New Star Taekwondo School in Iloilo are starting to introduce themselves into the poomsae game after racking up medals these past months.
During their Puerto Rico virtual stint, Clark Zed Abello and Franchezca Guihama under the category of 11-12 years old, Eunice Castante in the 13-14 years old, and Paul Dominic in the 7-8 years old dominated their categories and nabbed the gold medals for the City of Love.
New Star’s Puerto Rico participation is already their third international poomsae stint, first impressing in the US, Florida Online Poomsae Championships and doing the same in the Hong Kong Poomsae Championships.
In their first two international poomsae achievement, New Star garnered a total of 15 medals, 7 under US and 8 in Hong Kong.
The prestigious taekwondo gym is mentored and supervised by Master Kim and is being assisted by coach Keva Labrador.
