SULU Gov. Sakur Tan, Vice Gov. Toto Tan and 48 other officials in the province, including mayors, vice mayors, and board members on Thursday afternoon joined Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, who is president of Lakas-CMD, the largest political group in the country, flew to the provincial capital Jolo to administer the oath of membership to his new party mates.
The leader of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives told the new Lakas-CMD members that he is happy that they chose to affiliate themselves with his party.
“I take your decision to mean that you share our aspiration and the vision of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. for a better life for our people and a more progressive Philippines,” Speaker Romualdez said.
He said the expansion of Lakas-CMD in Congress and in the provinces widens grassroots support for President Marcos Jr.
Speaker Romualdez said he hoped his new members would have a fruitful engagement with Lakas-CMD.
The new members include 38 mayors and vice mayors and 10 provincial board members.
They are Mayor Mustafa Sahia Burahan and Vice Mayor (VM) Galib Data of Hji Panglima Tahil, Mayor Hermot Jikiri and VM Allan Nahier Jainal of Indanan, Mayor Kherkar Siraji Tan and VM Ezzeddin Suod Limpalan Tan of Jolo;
Mayor Shihla Tan Hayudini and VM Aiman Tan of Maimbung, Mayor Asri Sahubul Taib and VM Alradzmin Asani Nanoh of Pangutaran, Mayor Alkhadar Loong and VM Madzhar Loong of Parang, Mayor Kabir Elias Hayudini and VM Pulaus Atari Tarsum of Patikul, Mayor Nivocadnezar Isirani Tulawie and VM Zulficar Talib Tulawie of Talipao, Mayor Nurshamier Amiruddin Halun and VM Al Razhmie Amirudding Halun of Kalingalan Caluang;
Mayor Hadar Mariam Hajiri and VM Almedzar Aming Hajiri of Lugus, – Mayor Maryam Napii Arbison and VM Al-Makram Napii Arbison of Luuk, Mayor Abdulbaki Ajibon and VM Juddin Nur Pantasan of Omar, Mayor Al Frazier Sabdani Abdurajak and VM Renden Hassan Abdurajak of Panamao;
Mayor Nurhan Sabbaha Berto and VM Rakib Paragas Pulahong of Pandami, Mayor Munib Sahibil Estino and VM Morsid Musaya Estino of Panglima Estino, Mayor Abdurauf Camlian Burahan and VM Anton Jubail Burahan of Pata;
Mayor Ben – Sayeed Mohammad Muksan and VM Alnashrif Mohammad Muksan of Siasi, Mayor Nasser Tulawie Daud Jr. and VM Dorne Daud of Tapul, and Mayor Whidzfar Sahidulla and VM Denrasher Anggot Sahidulla of Tongkil (Banguingui) town.
The provincial board members are Al Minzhen Manalas Suhuri, Crisanta Canapi Hayudini, Charina Izquierdo Isahac, Sulaiman Mirin Burahan, Nurshida Loong Karanain, Nadia Arbison Alih, Raihana Arbison Adam, Nurwina Sahidulla, Abduradzmezer Wadjad Burahan, and Akmadhan Sitin.
Gov. Tan and his Sulu colleagues comprise the single largest group of local officials who joined the party led by Speaker Romualdez.
