An elderly died after suffering from a heart attack inside a motel room in Arevalo, Iloilo City early morning of September 22.
The victim allegedly entered Moonlight Lodge at Barangay Sto. Niño, Arevalo at past 2 a.m. of Friday.
The motel staff claimed that he was with a woman who was around 20 years old.
But 30 minutes later, the woman hurriedly went out of their room and asked for help from motel attendants.
She claimed that her companion appeared to have suffered from a heart attack.
Motel personnel immediately called for assistance from the Iloilo City Emergency Responders.
Captain Mavin Laraño, Iloilo City Police Station 6, said the victim was taken to The Medical City for treatment.
But he was declared dead at 4:17 a.m.
Laraño said the victim died of massive “pulmonary congestion secondary to acute coronary syndrome.”
The victim allegedly worked as a pork meat vendor in Molo district.
His family confirmed that the victim was indeed having some heart-related medical concerns.
Laraño said that the family decided to forego the conduct of an autopsy.
