BACOLOD City – Landers Superstore will bring in 600 job spots when it opens its branch here.
This will be the first Landers Superstore in Western Visayas that is set to open at Megaworld’s Upper East township, according to Harold Geronimo, Megaworld Senior Assistant Vice President for Public Relations and Media Affairs in a press conference on Tuesday.
Also present in the press conference were Graham Coates, first vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls; and Pieter Lukman, chief operations officer of Landers Superstore.
Lukman said this is the 7th Landers Superstore nationwide and the 4th with Megaworld.
Lukman assured that they will tap local manpower for their store here – 300 during the construction stage and another 300 for the store’s operation.
Coates said that “we are very happy and excited to host another Landers in our township. This time, inside the Upper East township in Bacolod, which is envisioned to be Bacolod’s newest central business district. This will be one of our anchor commercial establishments that will be directly connected to the iconic Upper East Mall.”
Aside from generating local employments, Landers will invest around P500 million for the store.
Coates said Landers continues its long and fruitful partnership with Megaworld to bring this project to life.
Targeted to open by March 2023, the Bacolod branch is the fourth Landers store under Megaworld, after Landers Alabang West, Landers Arcovia City and Landers Uptown Bonifacio.
Landers, the fastest-growing membership store in the country, will occupy a 2.5-hectare property at Upper East Avenue, just across the two latest residential condominium developments – Two Regis and Herald Parksuites – as well as the BPO office towers.
The premiere membership shopping store will be directly connected to the west wing of the soon-to-rise, three-level Upper East Mall via a 30-meter long bridgeway, which will come equipped with a walkalator to allow greater mobility for customers even with the grocery carts in tow.
It will also feature its own Caltex gas station where members can enjoy unrivaled exclusive discounts on fuel products, Landers said in a press statement.
Another particular highlight of Landers Upper East will be its expansive parking area, which will be designed to accommodate more than 300 vehicles at a time.
The statement also said that Landers has been contributing to Bacolod’s development and growth even before it launched its store expansion through its partnership with the Negrense Volunteers for change (NVC) Foundation.
They spearheaded numerous outreach activities in Bacolod and the rest of Western Visayas under the Mingo Meals Nutrition Support Progran.
For the past three years, Landers donated P485,384 worth of Mingo meals that fed 62,916 children from underserved areas in the province.
